Kerala passport officer finds phone numbers and maths sums in booklet

A viral video shows an Indian passport repurposed with handwritten contact details and calculations instead of travel stamps.

A passport officer in Kerala was reportedly shocked after discovering an Indian passport filled with handwritten phone numbers and mathematical sums, according to reports by The Times of India and News18.

The video, shared on X by user @dksardana, shows a person's passport that was presented for renewal. Instead of immigration stamps, the blank pages contained neatly aligned contact details, addition sums, and notes regarding expenses.

Social media users reacted to the clip with various comments. One user joked that the holder was an environment conservationist for saving paper, while another suggested the person should be given a 100-paged passport.

Some observers questioned the authenticity of the claim. One user noted the old design of the document and suggested it was likely a long-expired passport being put to use, rather than one actively being submitted for renewal.

This is not the first instance of a Kerala passport going viral for unconventional use. In 2023, a video circulated showing a woman using her husband's passport to track household accounts and daily expenses.
