MPSC inquiry excludes State Services Main Examination 2025 from scrutiny

A five-member commission has been tasked with investigating alleged irregularities in nine Maharashtra Public Service Commission examinations.

A five-member inquiry commission has begun collecting evidence regarding alleged irregularities in nine Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations, according to Urban Acres. The commission, headed by former Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale, has been given 60 days to submit its report.

MPSC member secretary Tukaram Mundhe issued a public notice seeking statements and evidence from individuals connected to the listed examinations. Concerned individuals have until 16 November to submit representations, supporting material, and affidavits.

The nine examinations listed for scrutiny include the Group B Drug Inspector Examination 2025, the Maharashtra Group B Non-Gazetted Services Combined Preliminary and Main Examinations 2025, and the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary and Main Examinations 2025. Also listed are the Maharashtra Agricultural Services Main Examination 2024, the Food and Drug Administration Services Main Examination 2023, and the Maharashtra Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering Services Main Examinations 2025.

The State Services Main Examination 2025 was not included in the list. Students have raised concerns regarding this omission, alleging substantial variations in marks for the State Services Main Examination 2025, including unexpected scores in essay and General Studies papers.

Student Junaid Sheikh described the inquiry into the nine examinations as welcome but questioned the absence of the State Services Main Examination 2025. Malhar Deshmukh said the exclusion would leave candidates' questions unanswered, while Dnyaneshwar Deshpande called the exclusion contradictory as the exam is for important administrative posts.

An attempt to contact MPSC member secretary Tukaram Mundhe for a response was unsuccessful.
