Cyclone Murasu brings rain to parts of Telangana
Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded the highest rainfall as authorities advised IT companies to allow early logouts for employees.
Parts of Telangana experienced rainfall on Tuesday due to Cyclone Murasu, with some districts recording approximately 6 cm of rain, according to The New Indian Express.
Bhadradri Kothagudem saw the most precipitation at 6.5 cm, while Khammam recorded 5.2 cm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad had previously issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The IMD Meteorological Centre stated that light to moderate rain is expected across most areas on Wednesday. Some eastern districts may see heavy rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 30-40 kmph.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh requested IT firms and organisations to let staff leave early from 2 pm on November 3 and 5. He suggested staggered logouts be finished by 4 pm to lower travel risks and road pressure.
Singh also advised companies to consider work from home to help reduce traffic and maintain essential services. Meanwhile, the South Central Railway (SCR) reported that Cyclone Murasu disrupted rail services on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The SCR confirmed that seven trains have been cancelled, eight have been diverted, and eight have been rescheduled.
