The officers will assist in relief and restoration operations in Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal following Cyclone Arnab.

The Odisha government has deputed four IAS officers to the Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts to manage relief and rehabilitation following Cyclone Arnab, according to NorthBlockSouthBlock.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced the deployment, stating that the officers have been given the powers of Additional Special Relief Commissioners (SRCs).

The officers will work under the supervision of their respective District Collectors to oversee field operations, evaluate needs, manage the delivery of necessary goods and track the repair of vital services.

Minister Pujari added that the officers will also supervise the distribution of financial assistance packages announced by the Chief Minister to ensure eligible people receive the funds.

A central assessment team arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday and moved to Gajapati district on Tuesday to inspect cyclone damage. The team is expected to visit Ganjam district on Wednesday and will meet with the State Chief Secretary and other senior officials during the visit.
