Rajanna is free to quit party if he wishes, says Balakrishna
Minister H.C. Balakrishna accused MLA K.N. Rajanna of engaging in anti-party activities following a meeting between Rajanna's son and a JD(S) leader.
Bengaluru Congress leader and Minister for Municipal Administration H.C. Balakrishna on Tuesday said MLA K.N. Rajanna is free to leave the Congress party if he wishes.
According to The Hindu, Balakrishna made these remarks in Chitradurga while accusing Rajanna of betraying the party.
The criticism follows a recent meeting between Rajanna's son, MLC R. Rajendra, and JD(S) leader and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
Balakrishna noted that the election process had not concluded when Rajendra posed for a photograph with Kumaraswamy.
Balakrishna stated that Rajanna has engaged in anti-party activities and suggested that strict action should be taken against him. He added that the Congress party does not belong to any single individual.
The Minister warned that the party may face serious problems in the future if it does not pay attention to such issues. He also questioned whether Rajanna's son had contested the election fairly.
Balakrishna concluded by saying that a complaint will be lodged against Rajanna with the party high command.
