Actor Yash discusses son's reaction to his Ravana role in Ramayana
The Kannada star explained the difference between acting and real life to his seven-year-old son, Yatharv.
Actor Yash recently shared that his seven-year-old son, Yatharv, expressed confusion regarding his casting as Ravana in director Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1, according to India Today.
The actor said his son, who grew up listening to the epic from his grandparents, asked him why he was playing the antagonist instead of the hero, Rama.
During a conversation with television presenter Suma Kanakala, Yash said he had to explain the distinction between his real life and his role in cinema to his son.
Yash noted that Yatharv also asked who he should root for in the film. The actor told his son that while Rama is the figure to follow in the story, he could root for him in the movie without taking the character personally.
The actor mentioned he had considered how fans might react to the role but had not anticipated his son's reaction. He said he had thought Yatharv would understand the concept of playing a character later.
Ramayana: Part 1 stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film is scheduled for release in cinemas on November 5.
