Suriya film Scene becomes highly anticipated Deepavali release in Tamil Nadu
The upcoming movie directed by Jithu Madhavan features Nazriya Nazim and marks the Tamil debut of Naslen.
Tamil actor Suriya's upcoming film, Scene, has become a majorly anticipated release for the Deepavali weekend in Tamil Nadu, according to The Hindu. The film is directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan.
The movie features Nazriya Nazim, who is looking to return to Tamil cinema after a long hiatus following her 2014 marriage to Fahadh Faasil. It also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Naslen, who will reportedly play a serial killer in one of his first negative roles.
Suriya is expected to appear as a police officer in the film. There is significant interest in whether the movie will be his third hit in the 2026 calendar year, following his previous films Karuppu and Vishwanath & Sons.
The release follows a decision by the Tamil Nadu government to allow theatres to screen new Tamil films for up to six shows daily. These screenings can run from 6 a.m. until 2.30 a.m. the next day for the first week of a film's release.
Scene is expected to be among the first films to benefit from these increased show timings during the holiday period.
