Telangana CM orders student feedback on school uniform designs

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wants students to choose the colours and quality of their school attire for the next academic year.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to collect opinions from students on the appearance and quality of uniforms supplied to government schools. According to reports from ANI and The News Mill, the Chief Minister held a review meeting to assess the distribution of kits and uniforms in government schools, hostels, and residential educational institutions.

Reddy stated that the final selection of uniform colours and patterns should reflect what the majority of students prefer. He said the new uniforms should be more attractive and of better quality than those provided in previous years.

During the meeting, officials reported that the distribution of items such as shoes, socks, belts, ties, identity cards, and school bags is nearly finished. They noted that distribution by one or two organisations has reached approximately 95 per cent completion.

The Chief Minister directed officials to finish delivering all remaining items quickly so that no student is left without government materials. He also called for an immediate action plan to ensure all kits reach students on the first day schools reopen.

Reddy instructed departments to create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the procurement and distribution of educational kits for the upcoming academic year. This process must include timelines for tendering, procurement, and supply.

The review included MP Vem Narender Reddy, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister N. Sridhar, and several other officials including Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh and Principal Secretary Rahul Bojja.
