Two century-old buildings in Chennai reach centenary milestones
A colonial-era TANGEDCO office and a pumping station in Santhome are marking 100 years of existence.
Two colonial-era buildings in Chennai's Santhome area are reaching their centenary milestones, according to The Hindu.
A small TANGEDCO office located beside the bishop's house features a stone at the terrace level dated 1927. The structure will reach 100 years in January 2027.
A pumping station at Sullivan’s Gardens, now known as P.S. Sivaswami Salai, is celebrating its centenary this year. The light green, Greek-style edifice has the year 1926 inscribed on its pediment.
The pumping station is located below ground level and is partially hidden behind high gates.
