Mohun Bagan hosts Odisha FC in Indian Super League tie on Thursday

League leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant aim for a fourth consecutive victory against struggling Odisha FC.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant will host Odisha FC in an Indian Super League match on Thursday, according to Rediff. The league leaders are looking to extend their winning streak and solidify their top position in the standings.

Mohun Bagan has collected nine points from four matches and is chasing its fourth successive victory. In contrast, Odisha FC has managed only two points from three outings and has yet to register a win.

Mohun Bagan head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis said the team must start with concentration and aggressiveness. He noted that being at the top of the table brings greater responsibility rather than just boosting confidence.

The Mariners will be without Sahal Abdul Samad, who has a knee injury, and Miguel Figueira for the fixture. However, the return of Australian striker Jamie Maclaren provides a boost to the forward line.

Odisha FC coach TG Purushothaman described the upcoming game as a survival match. He called for greater creativity in the midfield and a sharper attacking approach following consecutive draws against Inter Kashi and NorthEast United FC.

Purushothaman said the team is confident and has gained valuable experience from previous outings to handle the challenge.
