Zac Brown's Camp Southern Ground celebrates 15 years in Georgia
The 400-acre Fayetteville campus features an organic farm and programmes for children, veterans and military families.
Zac Brown founded Camp Southern Ground in Georgia in 2011 to provide a space for children, veterans and military families to build confidence and connection. According to the Times of India, the organisation marked its fifteenth anniversary in June 2026.
The 400-acre Fayetteville campus includes an 11.5-acre USDA Certified Organic farm that supplies three meals a day for campers and veterans. The farm serves as a classroom where campers use a one-acre demonstration garden to learn about food origins. The organisation stated that 71 per cent of campers tried a new food last year.
The facility features LEED-certified buildings and a five-acre solar field designed to provide power for daytime and potentially overnight operations. Sustainability measures include a geothermal ground loop system and the use of 100 per cent recyclable zinc siding.
The organisation provides free Warrior Programmes for veterans nationwide, including the Warrior PATHH programme which focuses on post-traumatic growth. It also supports military families through partnerships with organisations such as TAPS and Camp Corral.
Music is integrated into the camp's identity through the Warrior Song programme, which brings veteran singer-songwriters together for mentorship and creative development. In 2025, the fourth annual Warrior Song held intensive songwriting sessions for veteran artists.
