Harry Kane becomes Europe's highest-paid footballer after Bayern Munich extension
The England captain signed a new contract with the German champions that runs until June 30, 2029.
Bayern Munich confirmed on Thursday that Harry Kane has signed a new contract that runs until June 30, 2029. According to India Today, the 33-year-old striker is now reportedly Europe's highest-paid footballer by salary.
The agreement is the most lucrative contract in the history of Bayern Munich, according to The Athletic. While some rivals may earn more when performance-related bonuses are included, sources familiar with the deal say Kane's salary is the highest in Europe.
Kane joined the German club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has scored 156 goals in 161 appearances. The extension comes one week after the England captain won the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001.
I feel right at home at FC Bayern, Kane said. He added that he loves the club, the fans, the city of Munich, and manager Vincent Kompany.
The striker also expressed pride in being part of the club and stated that his family is happy in Munich. He said he is looking forward to the future and wants to win more titles with the club.
Kane's recent achievements include scoring 73 goals for Bayern and England during the 2025-26 campaign. He also led England to a third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
