Two Indian restaurants feature in 50 Best Restaurants in the World 2026 list

Naar in Kasauli and Masque in Mumbai have been included in the global rankings announced in Lima, Peru.

Two Indian restaurants have been named in the 50 Best Restaurants in the World for 2026 list, according to a report by Deccan Herald. The rankings were announced on Wednesday night at the Municipal Theater in Lima, Peru.

The list features Naar, located in Kasauli, at number 49 and Masque, located in Mumbai, at number 26. Both restaurants are new additions to the top 50 rankings.

Asador Etxebarri in the Basque region of Spain, where chef Victor Arguinzoniz has cooked since 1990, secured the top spot. The restaurant had previously held the number 2 position for the last two years.

The ceremony in Lima follows a decision to move the event from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The 50, formerly known as the World’s 50 Best, has published these rankings since 2002.

The voting process involves 1,100 individuals, including food media representatives, chefs, influencers, and travellers. Unlike the Michelin system, the 50 does not pay for meals, flights, or lodging for its voters.
