Headless body of 12-year-old girl found in Jharkhand's Godda

The victim's torso was discovered in a Dahua village field on Thursday morning after she went missing from her home overnight.

The headless body of a 12-year-old girl was discovered in a field in Dahua village, Jharkhand, on Thursday, according to The Assam Tribune.

The girl's throat was slit and her head was severed, officials said. While police recovered the girl's torso from the field under the Lalamatia police station jurisdiction, her head has not yet been found.

Villagers stated the crime occurred late on Wednesday night. The girl had been sleeping at home with her parents, but was found missing from her bed when the family woke up in the morning.

Locals suggested the killing might be linked to human sacrifice, occult practices, or superstition. However, police stated the motive remains unclear and they are investigating all angles, including forensic examination and personal vendettas.

The Lalamatia police cordoned off the area to collect forensic evidence. Enraged villagers have demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the crime.
