Neemuch hydropower plant to begin power generation from March, says CM
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that a Rs 6,000 crore private hydropower project in Madhya Pradesh is nearing completion.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Thursday that a Rs 6,000 crore hydropower plant in the Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh is ready. According to The Tribune, the 2,000 MW project is expected to start generating power by March next year.
Yadav told reporters that one turbine at the facility, which is among the largest of its kind in Asia, will start operating in December. He stated that the project will increase the power generation capacity of the state and provide Madhya Pradesh with a new identity in the renewable energy sector.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that his government plans to celebrate 'Govardhan Puja' on a large scale this year. He said cash prizes will be awarded to cattle rearers whose indigenous milch cows win competitions.
Yadav met with senior officials of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Daly College, though no specific details of the hour-long meeting were released by the state government or the RSS. The meeting occurred during the RSS annual Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting held at Daly College from November 2 to 4.
The annual meeting was attended by approximately 400 representatives of the Sangh Parivar, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
