Salman Khan faces criticism over song from war drama Maatrubhumi

Netizens questioned the relevance of a romantic track in a film inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has faced backlash on social media following the release of the song ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. According to The Assam Tribune, the track was released in the early hours of November 4 and features Khan alongside Chitrangda Singh.

The song, which marks Khan's return to playback singing after 11 years, has been criticised by some viewers for its tone. Users on X questioned the appropriateness of lyrics involving alcohol and romantic themes in a film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, where 20 Indian Army personnel, including Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, lost their lives.

The track was composed by Himesh Reshammiya and features vocals by Khan and Muskaan, with additional vocals and lyrics by Sajid Khan. While some fans appreciated the catchy tune, others expressed disappointment that a romantic number was included in a patriotic film.

Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, was previously titled Battle of Galwan. The film, which features Khan as an Army officer and Singh as his wife, is currently in post-production. No official release date has been announced since the film was postponed from its original April 2026 schedule.
