The pollution control board in Telangana has ordered the closure of the Cohance Lifesciences manufacturing site in Suryapet after an industrial accident killed an employee, according to Moneycontrol and BusinessLine.
The company stated on Friday that the accident happened during the manufacturing process. An employee on duty was exposed to an unknown substance during the incident.
The worker died from his injuries even after receiving medical treatment, the company said.
Cohance Lifesciences has started taking steps to fix issues noted by the pollution control board. The company expects to provide compliance documents soon to restart operations at the facility.
