Administrations in Gautam Budh Nagar, Bokaro and Darbhanga step up festive safety

Authorities are enhancing security, fire safety and medical preparedness ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations.

Administrations in Gautam Budh Nagar, Bokaro and Darbhanga are increasing safety and security measures ahead of the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals, according to reports by Hindustan Times, The Pioneer and Prabhat Khabar.

In Gautam Budh Nagar, district magistrate Medha Roopam stated that the priority is to ensure festivals are celebrated in a peaceful and safe environment. Officials said the administration is focusing on fire safety, emergency healthcare, traffic management and sanitation.

The fire department in Gautam Budh Nagar will inspect major markets and designated firecracker sale points, where only permitted green crackers will be allowed. Government hospitals and health centres have been instructed to ensure the availability of doctors and medicines to handle potential burn injuries.

In Bokaro, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has issued guidelines for Chhath Mahaparv and Diwali. Jha directed that firecracker vendors must operate from designated locations and prohibited sales near petrol pumps, gas godowns and crowded places.

Jha also prohibited the sale of firecrackers exceeding 125 decibels and the employment of minors. For Chhath Puja, officials must ensure sanitation, crowd management and the deployment of divers at ghats.

In Darbhanga, the fire department conducted awareness campaigns and mock drills to teach fire prevention. Officials instructed licensed firecracker shopkeepers to keep water, sand and fire extinguishers at their premises to assist in initial fire response.
