Another local resident, Asad Khan, said that two fatalities have been confirmed so far. Khan stated that the priority is to ensure anyone trapped under the debris is rescued safely.
Virendra Kumar said he was informed of the collapse around 10 am by a colleague and that his brother's phone was switched off. He has been searching the site for any trace of Pankaj.
The family, which includes Pankaj's wife, a son, and two daughters, had been planning to return to their native village in Bihar for Chhath Puja.
