FC Goa seek stability and first home win against Bengaluru FC

The two unbeaten teams face off at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Friday.

FC Goa and Bengaluru FC will compete at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Friday. According to The Times of India, Bengaluru FC secured a 2-0 victory the last time these sides met at Fatorda last season.

FC Goa currently sit sixth on the table with five points after three games. While they secured a win against Inter Kashi, they have recorded two draws at home against lower-ranked sides.

Goa assistant coach Shameel Chembakath said the objective is to get three points. He noted that the team needs to be organised and brave with the ball, adding that they are missing final third end-product and clean sheets.

Team sources stated that defenders Ronney Wilson and Aakash Sangwan, along with midfielder Harsh Patre, are ruled out due to injuries. However, Spanish winger Jorge Ortiz and Prachit Gaonkar have returned to the squad.

Bengaluru FC is also among the four unbeaten teams in the ISL, having won two of their three games. Their recent matches include a 3-2 win against SC Delhi, a 2-0 victory against Chennaiyin, and a draw against NorthEast United FC.

Bengaluru coach Pep Munoz said the humidity and hot weather in Goa will make it a tough game. He also noted that the opponent has players capable of playing good football, including Spanish players.
