Putin ready to help end war against Iran, says Rezaei

Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities during a meeting with Iran's security chief in Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has assured Iran that Moscow is ready to make every possible effort to end the ongoing war against Tehran, according to reports by ANI and The Tribune. Speaking after a meeting at the Kremlin on Thursday, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Major General Mohsen Rezaei said Putin criticised attacks on Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

Rezaei stated that Putin described the war against the Islamic Republic as unjust and condemned the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. The discussions between the two leaders also covered regional security arrangements, important regional developments, and post-war arrangements.

The two sides discussed energy cooperation, specifically the construction of gas pipelines from Russia to Iran. Rezaei said these pipelines would allow Iran to address domestic gas shortages and sell Russian gas to neighbouring countries.

Rezaei also delivered a message from Iran's Supreme Leader to Putin during the meeting. Putin responded by conveying his warm and cordial greetings to the Supreme Leader.

Separately, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf criticised American leadership in a post on X. Ghalibaf accused Washington of pursuing an aggressive approach while prioritising Israeli interests.
