New Bengaluru-Goa Vande Bharat may affect 15,000 passengers and 13 trains

The upcoming Yeshwantpur-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express is expected to receive priority on the Western Ghats route, potentially altering existing schedules.

The upcoming Yeshwantpur-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, connecting Bengaluru with Goa, may cause timetable changes for 13 existing trains and impact nearly 15,000 regular passengers, according to a Times of India report cited by the Economic Times.

The new service is expected to receive priority on the 55-km Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section through the Western Ghats. While the Vande Bharat is expected to carry approximately 1,100 passengers, other trains on the corridor may face en-route regulations of 10 to 25 minutes to accommodate it.

The 16576 Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwantpur Gomteshwara Express could see a significant schedule shift. Currently arriving at Yeshwantpur at 4.30 pm, the proposed timetable suggests it will depart Mangaluru at 11.40 am and reach Bengaluru at 10.15 pm.

Other affected services include the 16516 Karwar-Yeshwantpur Express, which may see its arrival at Bengaluru delayed from 8.50 pm to 10.15 pm. Additionally, the 22679 Yeshwantpur-Hassan Superfast Express is expected to record an average speed of less than 55 kmph.

The Bengaluru-Goa service will cover 670 km, with an average speed of 53 to 54 kmph. The journey from Yesvantpur to Madgaon is scheduled to take 12 hours and 20 minutes, while the return trip will take approximately 12 hours and 55 minutes.
