Manipur CM launches Northeast's first AI-enabled career intelligence hub in Imphal

The facility, funded through the MPLADS, aims to provide students with technology-driven guidance and personalised counselling.

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inaugurated the Northeast's first AI-enabled Career Intelligence Hub at Tamphasana Girls' Higher Secondary School in Imphal on Saturday, according to reports by NENow and The New Indian Express.

The hub was established using funds from the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) to provide students with digital career guidance, personalised counselling, and information regarding new employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister stated that artificial intelligence is rapidly changing various professional sectors globally. He noted that the facility would assist students in evaluating their skills, researching different career paths, and getting ready for future jobs.

During the event, Singh also opened the 32nd National Children's Science Congress, which is being held under the theme 'Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well-being.' The programme is organised by the Manipur Upliftment Centre and Samagra Shiksha Manipur under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Science Congress includes 39 student group leaders from schools across 12 districts of the state. Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi was also present at the joint event.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister praised students for showing restraint and avoiding agitations during regional disruptions over the last seven to eight months. He urged the public and students to use peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement instead of street protests to achieve lasting peace in Manipur.
