State employees will receive a 5 per cent DA hike and a 30-day ad-hoc bonus for the 2025-26 financial year.
The Uttar Pradesh government has raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 5 per cent and approved a 30-day ad-hoc Diwali bonus for the 2025-26 financial year, according to reports by Deccan Herald and Free Press Journal.
The DA revision increases the rate from 58 per cent to 63 per cent, effective from July 1, 2026. This adjustment applies to state government employees, staff in aided technical and educational institutions, urban local body workers, work-charged employees, and those on UGC pay scales.
The increased allowance will be included in the regular salary payments for November 2026. The state government stated on Saturday that the move is intended to provide relief to various eligible categories of staff.
Additionally, the Yogi Adityanath government has approved a bonus of up to ₹6,908 for approximately 14.82 lakh non-gazetted employees. This includes personnel in district panchayats, local bodies, and government-aided institutions.
Eligible employees must have completed at least one year of continuous service by March 31, 2026. The bonus will be distributed as 75 per cent savings in General Provident Fund accounts and 25 per cent in cash.
Daily wage workers are also eligible for the bonus, with a maximum amount of ₹1,184. However, employees facing departmental disciplinary proceedings or criminal cases during 2025-26 will not qualify for the payment.
