Congress leader Rajendra Pal Gautam targets BJP chief Nitin Nabin
The Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge accused BJP leaders of being incapable of independent action and misappropriating temple offerings.
Congress Uttar Pradesh in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam criticised BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday, claiming that certain individuals from Bihar only read from provided scripts. According to a report by The Times of India, Gautam's remarks followed comments made by Nabin regarding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
Gautam alleged that BJP leaders are unable to act on their own. He further accused the party of stealing offerings intended for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stating that they betrayed public faith by taking donations made in the name of Lord Ram for other purposes.
The confrontation began after Nabin told news agency IANS that Rahul Gandhi is being used as a tool to create instability in the country. Nabin claimed the Leader of the Opposition is part of a foreign toolkit designed to cause anarchy.
Nabin cited remarks from Jharkhand minister and Congress leader Irfan Ansari, who suggested Gandhi could mobilise 40 lakh people to protest against the Narendra Modi government. Nabin stated these comments confirm that Gandhi is being used to destabilise India.
Nabin asserted that the democratic foundations of the nation are strong. He added that the country would provide a fitting response to those attempting to spread chaos with what he described as anarchic and Maoist-leaning mindsets.
