Steve-O expands animal sanctuary mission at Tennessee ranch

The Radical Ranch in Sumner County currently houses nine rescued animals as the founder looks to add more species.

Actor and Jackass star Stephen Glover, known as Steve-O, is looking to expand the animal welfare mission of The Radical Ranch, a 44-acre property located in rural Sumner County near Nashville. According to the Times of India, the sanctuary was founded by Glover and Lux Wright in 2023 and became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024.

The ranch is currently home to nine animals, including goats, pigs, cats, and dogs. The residents include three goats named Sam, Drake, and Phil, a pig named Fonzarelli, a cat named Winifred Winfrey, and several rescued dogs. The animals receive full-time care from ranch hand Daniel Amaya, who is the only employee of the organisation.

Glover stated that he chose the Nashville-area property over sites in Colorado and Southern California because of its wooded trails and space. He also noted that moving away from the Hollywood Hills was appealing due to wildfire risks making insurance renewals difficult for some homeowners.

The founder intends to grow the operation by adding cows, donkeys, and chickens to the property. While horses are a long-term possibility, Glover noted they would require more skill and resources. The sanctuary is not yet open to the public as Glover also lives on the property, though he may welcome visitors in the future to assist with fundraising.
