BJP launches ‘save democracy, remove anarchy’ march in Jharkhand and Uttarakhand

The campaign targets the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand and saw participation from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

The BJP on Monday launched its ‘save democracy, remove anarchy’ march in Ranchi, Jharkhand, to highlight perceived threats to democratic institutions, according to The Hawk. The march began at Bapu Vatika at Morabadi Ground and proceeded through the SSP residence area and Kachahari Chowk before ending at Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park.

During the event, Union Minister Jual Oram alleged that the Congress has cast doubt on the Election Commission, the Supreme Court, and electronic voting machines due to electoral setbacks. Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu accused the ruling alliance of using a false narrative of “vote theft” and claimed that women and girls feel unsafe in the state.

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi alleged that the Congress and the ruling dispensation are creating an atmosphere of disorder. Former Union Minister Arjun Munda and BJP state in-charge Gajendra Singh Patel also criticised the opposition for attempting to weaken constitutional institutions.

In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the same march in Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal district, as reported by Hindustan Times. The programme, which included a public meeting, saw participation from hundreds of BJP workers and local residents.

The Jharkhand campaign will be carried out in two phases until November 5, covering districts including Giridih, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Jamshedpur, and Dumka.
