The syndicate allegedly used mule bank accounts to cheat victims of several crores of rupees over two years, according to Outlook.
The Assam Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested six individuals in Guwahati for their suspected roles in a financial fraud syndicate connected to Pakistan Intelligence Operatives, according to Outlook and Hindustan Times.
The group allegedly used mule bank accounts to move fraudulent money across India, resulting in losses of several crores of rupees over the last two years.
The investigation began after an online fraud complaint was filed in Sonitpur district last month and later transferred to the STF following intelligence from Gajraj Military Intelligence in Tezpur.
On October 28, the STF arrested Marjina Begum, 28, Mofijul Haque, 22, and Himangshu Das, 19. Investigators found that Begum's account received several lakh rupees between June 22 and August 5, 2026, with immediate withdrawals following each deposit.
Following interrogations, the STF arrested three more Guwahati residents: Rakib Hussain, 34, on October 29, and Iftar Hussain, 25, and Arman Aziz Hoque, 20, on October 30.
Police seized mobile phones, laptops, electronic gadgets, and bank documents during the raids. The STF is currently tracing the money trail and investigating the extent of the links to Pakistan-based operatives and other members of the network.
