BJP march in Kolkata shows support for Modi, says Sukanta Majumdar
Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar claimed the large turnout at the BJP rally reflects public backing for the Prime Minister.
Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar said a large Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) march in Kolkata on November 2 reflected public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to The News Mill, the 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' march was organised to protest the West Bengal government over claims of weakening democratic institutions and declining law and order.
Majumdar criticised former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating her political influence in the state had waned. He alleged that the opposition is empty and claimed that Banerjee is now 'piggybacking on Cockroach'.
The demonstration was led by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and state BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya. Majumdar also criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, alleging that Kharge's own party members do not listen to him.
West Bengal Minister Ajay Kumar Poddar accused opposition parties and foreign powers of collaborating to hinder India's progress. He stated that those associated with the INDI Alliance cannot tolerate the direction the Prime Minister has steered the country over the last twelve years.
West Bengal Minister Arjun Singh also criticised Mamata Banerjee, attributing her recent comments to frustration over political setbacks. Singh stated that Banerjee would not be able to win a municipal election and commented on Rahul Gandhi.
