Bihar minister directs officials to speed up mining clearances
Mines and Geology Minister Pramod Kumar has ordered faster administrative procedures to ensure auctioned mineral blocks begin production and dispatch without delay.
Mines and Geology Minister Pramod Kumar directed officials on Monday to ensure that auctioned mineral blocks in Bihar begin production and dispatch without delay, according to Urban Acres.
The minister issued these instructions during a review meeting in Patna to examine the progress of several mineral blocks, including the Bhora-Kathra limestone block in Rohtas district.
Other blocks reviewed included the Pipradih-Bhurwa and Chutiya-Nauhatta glauconite blocks, as well as the auctioned Genjana nickel-chromium and platinum group elements block in Gaya.
Kumar stated that the true advantage of an auction is only realised when production starts on time and warned that delays in making the blocks operational would not be tolerated.
The meeting, attended by Department Secretary Avanish Kumar and representatives of the Geological Survey of India (GSI), also covered e-auctions of stone plots.
Kumar said mineral exploration in the state would be strengthened through closer coordination with the GSI and emphasised the need for transparent bidding and scientific surveys.
