Odisha offers Rs 30,000 laptop incentive to 15,000 meritorious students

Eligible Class 12 students must submit their applications through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal by November 19, 2026.

The Odisha government is providing Rs 30,000 to 15,000 meritorious students under the Godabarisha Bidyarthi Protsahan Yojana, also known as the Laptop Incentive Scheme, according to a Times Now report.

The Higher Education Department has opened the online application window from November 1 to November 19, 2026. Selected beneficiaries will receive the funds directly into their bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

The scheme is available to students who passed the 2025 Annual Higher Secondary Examination by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, or the Upashastri examination by Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Puri. Students who passed in 2024 but missed the previous application window may also apply.

Selection will depend on merit and specific allocation criteria involving district, stream, category, and block or urban local body. Under the guidelines, the department will prioritise students who achieved at least 60 per cent in their examinations.

Applicants must register on the Odisha State Scholarship Portal using their Aadhaar number and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number. The process requires uploading necessary documents, including bank passbook details, to ensure correct DBT transfers.

The department will release the list of eligible beneficiaries on its official website and the scholarship portal. The Higher Education Department has advised students to complete the process by the November 19 deadline.
