Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to visit Pudukkottai and Erode for projects
The Chief Minister will inaugurate infrastructure and distribute welfare assistance worth Rs 1,110 crore during the two-day tour.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is scheduled to visit Pudukkottai and Erode on November 2 and 3 to launch new public facilities and distribute welfare assistance, according to reports by Dinamalar and Deccan Chronicle.
On November 2, the Chief Minister will visit Pudukkottai to open a bus stand costing Rs 23 crore and an indoor stadium at the district sports complex built for Rs 8 crore. He is expected to fly from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli by private aircraft before taking a helicopter to the Armed Reserve Police grounds.
Due to the northeast monsoon, authorities have prepared contingency plans for road travel between Tiruchirappalli and Pudukkottai if weather conditions affect helicopter movement. The welfare assistance programme, originally set for the Armed Police Grounds, has been moved to the district collectorate.
The Chief Minister is also expected to participate in a 1.5-kilometre roadshow in Pudukkottai before returning to Chennai that night. His advisers will travel by private aircraft, while secretaries and senior officials are expected to arrive in Pudukkottai the previous evening.
On November 3, Vijay will attend a government event in Perundurai, Erode district, involving welfare assistance valued at Rs 1,110 crore. This programme is intended to support women and will involve 13 districts, though the visit is not connected to a by-election.
The Erode schedule includes public interactions at seven locations, such as the Perundurai bypass road and SIPCOT Roundana, as he travels from Coimbatore to Perundurai. The final travel arrangements for the Pudukkottai leg remain dependent on weather conditions.
