Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has proposed 10 greenfield radial roads to connect Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road with the proposed Regional Ring Road.
Telangana Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has proposed an investment of Rs 45,000 crore for 10 greenfield radial roads to connect the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR), according to Urban Acres.
Reddy raised these proposals, along with requests for national highway status for two specific road corridors, with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. The corridors mentioned are Sangareddy–Narsapur–Toopran–Gajwel–Jagdevpur–Bhongir–Choutuppal and Choutuppal–Amangal–Shadnagar–Sangareddy.
The MP stated that Hyderabad and Telangana require modern road infrastructure, better logistics, and stronger regional connectivity to maintain economic growth. He noted that the state needs infrastructure investment and timely decisions for its future.
Minister Gadkari told Reddy that the Union government is currently consulting on the policy for declaring new national highways. The proposals will be processed once the guidelines are finalised, though no approval or implementation timeline has been confirmed.
The proposals aim to improve road access and logistics links around Hyderabad and the wider Telangana region. The next step involves the finalisation of the guidelines governing the declaration of new national highways.
