Apple may bring touchscreen redesign to entry-level MacBook Pro in 2027

The company could introduce M7-powered base models with thinner chassis and narrower bezels, according to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Apple may extend its touchscreen redesign to entry-level MacBook Pro models by 2027, according to a report by Firstpost.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggested in his Power On newsletter that the company could launch a redesigned 14-inch MacBook Pro during the first half of 2027. These base models are expected to feature M7-powered chips, a lighter build, a thinner chassis, and narrower display bezels.

Gurman also noted that another generation of touchscreen MacBook Pros could arrive in 2027. These high-end machines are anticipated to include M7 Pro and M7 Max processors, along with hardware designed for AI capabilities.

Apple recently launched its first touchscreen MacBook Pros, which feature OLED displays and Dynamic Island functionality. These new versions include a revised cooling system and a thinner enclosure, though they cost $400 more than the mini-LED M5 Pro and M5 Max models.

The chip upgrade for these upcoming models is expected to arrive towards the end of 2027.
