AI will create new jobs through tech progress, says FICCI Telangana chief
V V Rama Raju expressed confidence that technological evolution and upskilling will provide alternative employment opportunities.
V V Rama Raju, the chairman of the FICCI Telangana State Council, said on November 4 that technological progress and the upskilling of young workers could mitigate fears regarding how artificial intelligence (AI) affects jobs. Speaking at the Telangana Deep-Tech Leadership Summit and FICCI@100 celebrations in Hyderabad, Raju noted that AI is still in its early stages of development, according to ANI and The News Mill.
Raju stated that while AI might cause some concern, he does not believe there is much reason to worry. He said that people will find different work opportunities through engineering and technological improvements, especially as both state and central governments focus on training the younger workforce.
Former FICCI President Dr Sangita Reddy said the organisation is dedicating the year to highlighting how industry helps build the nation. She noted that the Deep Tech Summit is being held to mark the centenary of FICCI, which was founded in 1927.
Reddy mentioned that discussions are occurring regarding how India can reach a $30 trillion economy and how Telangana can provide 10 per cent of that target. She added that this goal could mean every individual has an income of $18,000.
Telangana State Minister D Sridhar Babu said the summit would provide useful information to help create forward-looking policies for future technology. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also congratulated FICCI on its 100 years, noting its role in guiding Indian industry and wealth creation.
