More than 2,000 personnel are working round-the-clock to repair infrastructure damaged by cyclones Arnab and Murasu in Andhra Pradesh.

Over 2,000 personnel from the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) are working round-the-clock to restore power supply following cyclones Arnab and Murasu, according to The Hindu.

The staff are working within the jurisdiction of the A.P. Eastern Power Discom Limited (APEPDCL) to repair infrastructure damaged by the cyclones in West Godavari district.

APSPDCL Chairman Siva Sankar Lotheti, who is the Special Supervisory Officer for West Godavari district, said the company has mobilised manpower including directors, managers, engineers and field-level staff.

Lotheti has been staying in West Godavari district for the past one week to assess the ground-level situation and provide instructions to officials to complete restoration works.

The APSPDCL is also extending support to the APCPDCL jurisdiction, headquartered at Vijayawada, to expedite the restoration of power infrastructure damaged by Cyclone Murasu.

The Chief Minister and State Ministers have appreciated the efforts made by the electricity department to restore power during the challenging conditions caused by the two cyclones.
