RSS suggests conspiracy behind Gen Z protests despite genuine grievances
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale says anarchic forces are attempting to provoke unrest among young people.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on Tuesday that anarchic forces are attempting to provoke young people and create social unrest. Speaking at the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting in Indore, Hosabale suggested a conspiracy might be behind the Gen Z protests occurring in the country, according to The Indian Express.
Hosabale stated that while young people have legitimate concerns, their protests must not be used to divide society or lead to violence. He noted that anarchic forces may be acting from both within the country and from outside. He added that based on global experiences, there appears to be a certain conspiracy involved.
The RSS leader said the organisation believes the grievances of the youth should be addressed through dialogue rather than being labelled as anti-national. He remarked that young people have the right to demand administrative action to resolve their problems and that the organisation should listen to their ideas for improving society.
Hosabale also addressed the controversy regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He defended the exercise, noting that it is necessary to remove deceased voters and duplicate entries from the 13 crore names in the rolls. He said the inclusion of non-citizens in these lists would be a security concern.
Regarding the political reaction to the SIR, Hosabale said that while political parties can follow their own agendas in a democracy, they should verify the facts before protesting. He maintained that the revision process is an important exercise that has been conducted in the past.
