Bihar health department to recruit more than 11,000 staff members
The State Health Society, Bihar is expected to issue the official recruitment notification in the last week of November.
The Bihar health department is planning to fill more than 11,000 medical support, technical, administrative, and clerical positions across the state. According to reports from Urban Acres and The Hindu, the State Health Society, Bihar (SHSB) is expected to release the official notification during the final week of November.
State Health Society Executive Director Naval Kishor Choudhary said on Wednesday that preparations for the recruitment process are in the final stages. He noted that the department is currently collecting updated vacancy data from all 38 districts, including community health centres, primary health centres, sub-divisional hospitals, and district hospitals.
The first phase of hiring will include staff nurses, laboratory technicians, block health managers, managerial personnel, clerical employees, and non-medical establishment staff. Choudhary stated that recruitment for other categories will be conducted in a second phase.
The appointments aim to address manpower shortages from the panchayat level to the district level. Choudhary said the new staff would support doctors and paramedical personnel, particularly in remote and rural areas, while also reducing the workload on existing employees at district and sub-divisional hospitals.
The department intends to complete the full process, including selection, document verification, and the issuance of appointment letters, within six to seven months of the notification being released. A detailed recruitment calendar will be issued once the department receives necessary approvals from the authorities.
