BRS has no moral right to speak on Godavari waters, says Anil Eravathri
Former Balkonda MLA Anil Kumar Eravathri accused the previous BRS government of neglecting irrigation projects in the erstwhile Nizamabad district.
Congress leader and former Balkonda MLA Anil Kumar Eravathri criticised former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy and other BRS leaders for demanding water be lifted from the Kaleshwaram project, according to The Hindu.
Mr. Eravathri stated that the leaders who were in power for ten years and failed to supply extra irrigation water to farmers have no moral authority to discuss Godavari waters.
He questioned why the previous administration did not finish Packages 21 and 22, which were meant to provide irrigation to the Nizamabad Rural, Balkonda, Jagtial, Korutla, Kamareddy and Yellareddy Assembly constituencies.
The Congress leader alleged that the BRS government prioritised commissions and contracts over finishing these irrigation works.
Defending the current Congress government's stance on the Kaleshwaram project, Mr. Eravathri said the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), the Central Water Commission, and experts from IIT Delhi had found issues regarding design, quality, and structure.
Mr. Eravathri warned that farmers in the Nizamabad district would not forgive BRS leaders if they tried to mislead them regarding irrigation for electoral purposes.
