Punjab CM alleges BJP directs central agencies to raid AAP leaders

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the raids at an MLA's residence are part of a political vendetta.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday alleged that the BJP-led Union government is using central agencies to target opposition leaders. According to ThePrint, Mann made these remarks following raids conducted by central agencies at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amandeep Kaur.

Mann claimed the central agencies are acting on the instructions of the BJP to suppress dissent and intimidate political opponents. He stated that the investigations would yield no evidence against AAP leaders, whom he described as working with honesty and dedication.

The Chief Minister asserted that such tactics would not stop his government from pursuing its development agenda or serving the people of Punjab. He suggested that the Union government should focus on public concerns instead of using investigating agencies to settle political scores.

Addressing other matters, Mann noted that the announcement of 40 candidates for the 2027 assembly polls is part of an ongoing organisational process. He also stated that the remaining names would be revealed in due course.

Mann highlighted various state initiatives, including the Seechewal Model for drain cleaning and the provision of morning electricity for farmers. He also mentioned the development of over 2,000 playgrounds and the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state.
