CM Naidu calls for consensus on national examination reforms
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met the Examination Reforms High-Powered Task Force to discuss a transparent and credible testing system.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for comprehensive national examination reforms to ensure fairness for students regardless of their regional, linguistic, or educational backgrounds, according to reports by Deccan Chronicle and The Hindu.
Naidu met with the Examination Reforms High-Powered Task Force, led by chairman Nandan Nilekani, at the state secretariat in Vijayawada on Wednesday to discuss overhauling the examination system.
The Chief Minister stated that the examination system should be developed through consensus among states and should reflect the aspirations of the younger generation. He said educational reforms should focus on developing students' skills, creativity, and analytical abilities rather than just marks.
Nilekani said the task force is focusing on preventing question paper leaks, the effective use of technology, strengthening cybersecurity, and enhancing digital forensics. He added that the committee is visiting different states to understand existing examination systems and is collecting feedback from stakeholders to develop a national framework.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh discussed policies being implemented in Andhra Pradesh, including the use of technology in the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment examination. Lokesh said the new framework should reduce student stress and called for better national-level coordination to assist students moving between states for higher education or employment.
