The former Chief Minister urged students to visit the facility to learn about the Dravidian movement and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy's ideals.
DMK president and former Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the Periyar Arivulagam in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, on Wednesday, November 4. According to The Hindu, Stalin toured the facility alongside Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani to understand the principles of the Dravidian movement.
Stalin stated that he had visited the site previously but returned to see it following its completion and inauguration. He noted that because of the large crowds, he was unable to inspect every section and intends to return for a more detailed visit.
The former Chief Minister encouraged youngsters and students to use the library to gain knowledge and study the ideals of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy. He expressed his hope that the centre would evolve into a people's library.
Regarding the project's progress, Stalin said nearly three-fourths of the construction was finished before the Assembly elections. He remarked that it was fortunate the project was so far advanced before the change in government, as the new administration might have cancelled it.
Earlier in Coimbatore, Stalin laid the foundation stone for a new integrated DMK district office at Neelambur. The three-storey building will be built on 50 cents of land and will include a marriage hall, a dining hall, a district party office, and a meeting hall.
