Keralam CM confirms meeting businessman suspected of sting operation
Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan noted that the individual wore camera-enabled smart glasses only during meetings with Congress leaders.
Keralam Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan confirmed on Wednesday that he met a businessman suspected of being involved in a potential sting operation. According to The Hindu, Satheesan stated he had also received photographs of the meeting.
The Chief Minister raised questions regarding the selective use of camera-enabled Meta smart glasses by the individual. He noted that photographs show the businessman wearing the device during meetings with himself and Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, but not when meeting BJP leaders or other ministers.
The Karnataka Police are currently investigating alleged attempts to conduct sting operations targeting the two Congress Chief Ministers. In Karnataka, Shivakumar suspected the businessman of attempting to spy on him during a discussion intended to cover business matters, though the visitor reportedly shifted the topic to politics and electoral strategies.
Satheesan declined to comment further on the case because an investigation is underway. He also ruled out a separate probe by the Keralam government, stating that the matter is being handled by the Karnataka Police.
