TVK MLA alleges horse-trading attempts by AIADMK and DMK
Madurai Central MLA Musthafa claims he was offered Rs 15 crore to support a no-confidence motion.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA Musthafa has alleged that members of the AIADMK and DMK are attempting to lure his party's legislators through horse-trading. Speaking to reporters at the Madurai airport on Wednesday, 4 November, the Madurai Central representative claimed he was personally offered Rs 15 crore to support a no-confidence motion against the government, according to reports by ANI and South First.
Musthafa stated that AIADMK functionaries from his constituency contacted him with the offer. He said he has informed the TVK leadership about the matter. He further claimed that the identities of those involved in these attempts will be revealed within a day or two.
The MLA asserted that TVK MLAs would not switch sides even if offered Rs 100 crore. He also noted that AIADMK members have become active following the registration of a case against Senthil Balaji.
Musthafa criticised AIADMK leader R.B. Udhayakumar, describing his remarks as political posturing and noting that the Pollachi sexual assault case occurred during the AIADMK regime. He also accused Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman of making contradictory statements and having double standards.
Regarding the government, Musthafa said Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has introduced several welfare schemes during the first six months in office. He noted that a scheme for women is being launched across several districts today.
