Stalin claims corporate interests control TVK government in Coimbatore speech

DMK president M.K. Stalin alleged Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is being used by corporate power centres to run the administration.

Addressing a felicitation ceremony at VOC Grounds in Coimbatore on Wednesday, DMK president M.K. Stalin accused corporate power centres of controlling the TVK-led government. According to The Hindu, Stalin alleged that Chief Minister C.

Joseph Vijay is unable to make independent decisions and is being used by these interests to manage the administration.

Stalin described the government as a "circus" where corporate entities pull the strings. He further alleged that astrologers are dictating government functions, including the selection of the Chief Minister's clothing and the scheduling of official events.

The DMK leader criticised the administration over power cuts, claiming the government is buying electricity from the open market at almost double the cost after ending previous procurement arrangements. He also raised concerns regarding law and order, noting that Coimbatore has seen 10 murders in one month.

Stalin questioned the Chief Minister's responsibility regarding the arrest of TVK functionary N. Boopalan in Nagapattinam in connection with a 135 kg methamphetamine seizure. He also alleged that various TVK office-bearers have faced accusations of extortion, intimidation, and sending obscene messages to women.

Regarding the DVAC searches at the premises of former Minister K.N. Nehru, Stalin claimed the actions were politically motivated to distract from government shortcomings. He stated the searches were being conducted to create social media reels for the Tiruchy East by-election.

Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani attended the event, which was organised to appreciate Stalin's role in establishing the Periyar Arivulagam facility.
