Telangana Sports Minister inaugurates renovated tennis complex in Hyderabad

The SATS Tennis Complex at LB Stadium will host the eighth season of the Tennis Premier League in December.

Telangana Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari inaugurated the renovated SATS Tennis Complex at the Lal Bahadur Stadium (LB Stadium) in Hyderabad on Wednesday, according to ANI and The Tribune.

The facility is managed by the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) and serves as the home for the Telangana State Tennis Association.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and various local leaders attended the event.

Srihari told ANI that the Khelo India initiative has been granted to Telangana and noted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had expressed the need for sports infrastructure to Prime Minister Modi.

The minister stated that the state intends to show the world its potential for sports.

The venue is prepared to hold the eighth season of the Tennis Premier League (TPL) between December 8 and 13, marking the first time the league visits Hyderabad.

This development follows the state government's goal to become an education and sports hub, including plans for a Young India Sports University to train Olympic athletes.
