Telangana vocational trainers seek government intervention over 10 months of unpaid salaries
The Telangana Vocational Trainers Association has submitted a representation to the Director of School Education to resolve long-pending service-related grievances.
Vocational trainers in schools across Telangana have appealed to the Director of School Education, E. Naveen Nicolas, to resolve the issue of unpaid salaries for the past 10 months, according to The Hindu.
Representatives of the Telangana Vocational Trainers Association (TVTA) submitted a representation to Mr. Nicolas on Wednesday. The trainers are employed in Gurukul institutions, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), Zilla Parishad High Schools, and State Model Schools.
The association alleged that the delay in salary payments has caused financial distress for hundreds of trainers and their families. They stated that their basic salary and service-related concerns remain unresolved despite their work in imparting practical skills to students.
The TVTA presented five demands to Mr. Nicolas. These include the immediate release of 10 months of pending salaries and ensuring monthly salaries are paid on or before the first of every month.
The trainers also requested the implementation of a 12-month salary system for financial stability. Additionally, they demanded an increase in casual leave entitlement and maternity leave for women trainers.
