Mohan Yadav directs officials to ensure foolproof Diwali arrangements in Madhya Pradesh

The Chief Minister instructed Collectors and Superintendents of Police to maintain law and order and prevent the use of banned firecrackers.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday held a virtual meeting with Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to mandate strict law and order measures for Diwali. According to ANI, the Chief Minister instructed officials to maintain high vigilance throughout the festival period to ensure peaceful celebrations.

Yadav told officials to strictly prohibit the use of carbide guns, carbide lamps, and banned firecrackers due to health risks. He also ordered the administration to take firm action against the manufacture, transport, and consumption of illicit liquor, including the dismantling of distribution networks for poisonous alcohol.

The Chief Minister directed the administration to exempt small vendors selling items such as flowers, fruits, and diyas from tehbazari charges in major markets. He further instructed that these vendors should not face unnecessary harassment.

Regarding drug abuse, Yadav called for the formation of combat teams to dismantle narcotics networks and shut down manufacturing laboratories. He requested special surveillance at railway stations, bus stands, coaching centres, schools, and colleges to stop the illegal sale of prohibited substances.

On agricultural matters, the Chief Minister told the Agriculture and Marketing Departments to ensure the timely distribution of fertilisers. He stated that Collectors would be held accountable for any shortages or difficulties faced by farmers during the current season.

Yadav also instructed Collectors to ensure 100 per cent property registrations under the Mukhyamantri Registry Yojana (Swamitva Registry) on Dhanteras. He suggested that Patwaris and Tehsildars who perform exceptionally in these registrations should be honoured on January 26.
