Couple shares experience of travelling in Indian Railways' First AC coach
A video shared on Instagram provides a look at the privacy, food, and facilities available in premium train compartments.
A couple recently shared their experience of travelling from Delhi to Kashmir in the First AC coach of Indian Railways, according to a report by Mint. The travellers, who operate the Instagram account @veggiewander, described the journey as a special milestone.
The couple highlighted that First AC accommodation is divided into enclosed cabins and two-berth coupes, which are accessed through doors to provide privacy. They explained that compartments are identified by alphabetical labels, such as A, B, C, D, and E.
In their video, the travellers noted that a coupe contains two seats, while a cabin contains four berths. They stated that the two-berth coupe serves as a quiet and private space for couples.
The premium compartment includes facilities such as stairs to access upper berths and bathing arrangements. The couple also mentioned that passengers can access food and beverages, including tea, coffee, water, and meals, during the journey.
While acknowledging that First AC tickets cost more than other classes, the couple said the experience felt premium. The travellers reached Jammu after beginning their journey from Delhi in the highest class of regular passenger accommodation.
