Fresh western disturbance to influence north India weather next week

The India Meteorological Department expects light rainfall and snowfall in hilly regions while the northern plains remain dry until November 8.

A new western disturbance has become active over northern India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, according to Telangana Today reporting the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather system is expected to bring scattered light rainfall and snowfall to hilly areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. However, the IMD stated that the plains are unlikely to see rainfall before November 8.

In Delhi-NCR, weather is expected to remain largely clear and windy in the coming days. Maximum temperatures in Delhi are likely to range between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may settle between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius.

As temperatures decline next week, cold conditions are expected to intensify with a possible increase in morning fog. Meanwhile, air pollution remains a concern, with Delhi recording an AQI of 463, Noida 456, and Greater Noida 426.

In southern India, rainfall is expected to continue in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala until November 8. This is due to a cyclonic system over Lakshadweep, coastal Karnataka, and southern Tamil Nadu, as well as Cyclone Murasu, which has weakened after crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast.
